Arabian Cricket Ltd is inviting smaller senior schools to a 35 over pre-season cricket tournament in March 2012, approved by the MCC as a Spirit of Cricket event. In previous years we have run successful tournaments for schools such as Abingdon, Dubai College, St Kentigern (New Zealand) St George’s, Uppingham and Winchester.

Michael Edwards, from Shiplake College, watched many of the 2010 games and asked if we could organise a tournament for smaller schools such as SHMIS members as the UAE offers superb cricket facilities, sunshine and high quality accommodation.

We are offering a 35 over cup competition in March 2012 for U16 teams. We are encouraging schools to bring a squad of players from Years 9 to 11 to develop future 1st Xl players. A sample suggested itinerary is attached.

Estimated price for a squad of 15 boys and 2 masters (travelling free of charge) is £1150 per person.

This includes:
Return flight to the UAE from the UK
UAE Airport transfers
Bus transport to practice and matches.
Hotel accommodation in Dubai on a twin sharing basis
Full Buffet breakfast on each day.
Food and water at games
Ground hire for 4 matches – at least one day night game – all games on grass wickets.

Shiplake College and The British School Abu Dhabi have already entered the tournament and we are looking for more schools from the UK to take part.
